AEMC: draft rules to support new generating technologies and inertia ancillary services market draft determination

In July 2016 the AEMC initiated a power system review to guard against blackouts in the national electricity market.

The final report for the System Security Market Frameworks Review was released on 27 June along with a package of draft rules for public consultation on proposals to stabilise the grid in relation to frequency management and system strength.

The AEMC also intends to introduce further near term measures through draft rules on the inertia ancillary services rule change request in November 2017.
